Job summary

Bassett Healthcare Network seeks a Licensed Practical Nurse, Charge to evaluate and direct nursing care for residents on a specified unit. You will assign care, observe patient status, and document findings, ensuring seamless care across shifts.

Responsibilities include updating care plans with families and staff, supervising nursing staff, and reviewing physician orders daily. You will participate in teaching programs, quality assurance, and maintain infection control standards.

Qualifications

• Must follow infection control procedures.
• Adheres to Code of Conduct and professionalism.
• Maintains license current and provides copy for personnel file.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate and direct nursing care of residents on the unit.
• Assign resident care according to needs and staff abilities.
• Observe residents and document observations in medical records.
• Provide continuity of care across shifts.
• Update plan of care to residents, families and staff.
• Participate in resident teaching programs.
• Contribute to resident care plans and discuss issues with supervisor.
• Review physicians' orders daily and ensure proper administration.
• Complete Quarterly Nursing Summary for each resident.
• Participate in Quality Assurance activities as directed.
• Maintain environment conducive to quality care.
• Make rounds to assess care effectiveness and consult with Nurse Care Coordinator.
