Job summary

Chateau-Rehabilitation-and-Healthcare-Center in Fort Wayne, IN is seeking a registered nurse or licensed practical nurse to provide and supervise direct resident care, ensuring compliance with federal and state standards.

You will direct nursing assistants, manage admissions/discharges, administer medications, document care, and coordinate with other departments to maintain a warm, professional unit environment and high-quality resident care.

Qualifications

• Registered Nursing or Licensed Practical Nurse with current unencumbered state license.
• Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand English.
• Must be able to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant action.
• Knowledge of nursing practices, laws, and guidelines for care facilities.
• Current CPR Certification is required.
• Experience in Long Term Care is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Direct the day-to-day functions of nursing assistants and plan shift services.
• Complete and file admission, transfer, and discharge records; document physician orders.
• Prepare and administer medications as ordered by the physician.
• Develop rapport with inter-departmental staff to maintain nursing services.
• Administer procedures such as catheterization, dressings, and routine care as required.
• Monitor safety and protect resident confidentiality; maintain privacy in care.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
