Job summary

The Glen Retirement System in Shreveport is seeking an LPN (Charge Nurse) to provide clinical leadership within a household and ensure daily resident care in alignment with each resident's plan of care. You will supervise staff, mentor nurses, and maintain open communication with residents and families.

Louisiana LPN licensure, CPR and IV certifications are required; prior long-term care experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Licensure as an LPN in Louisiana is required.
• 1+ years’ nursing experience; long-term care preferred.
• CPR certification required.
• IV certification required.
• Commitment to person-directed care; dementia care and geriatric nursing preferred.
• Excellent computer skills and able to use EHR, MS Outlook, and phone/fax.
• Proficient in medical terminology.
• Ability to work independently and with the care team; think outside the box.

Responsibilities

• Provide clinical leadership to the household and oversee daily care and services.
• Recognize early signs of changing conditions and respond with appropriate resources.
• Lead household staff to maintain policies and procedures for clinical practices.
• Mentor and coach clinical employees and foster team connection.
• Communicate resident medical needs clearly with staff, physicians, and families.
