Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Directs the day-to-day nursing activities and assigns tasks to Nursing Assistants.
• Assists in coordinating nursing services to ensure continuity of resident care.
• Administers medications and treatments as ordered by physicians.
• Represents the nursing department in Interdisciplinary Care Plan meetings and answers plan-related questions.
• Participates in committee meetings and helps identify and correct care-related issues.
• Provides direct nursing care as needed and collaborates with Unit Manager to reduce hospital readmissions.
• Communicates changes in residents’ conditions to physicians and families as required.
• Monitors use of restraints per facility policy and procedure.
• Assists with admissions, transfers, and discharges as necessary.
