Job summary

Next Level Technician seeks a Lead Low Voltage Cable Technician for the Dallas–Fort Worth area. You will lead commercial low voltage installations, pull and test copper cabling, install fiber, read blueprints, and mentor junior technicians. The role requires strong problem solving and safety focus.

Qualifications

• 5–10 years of commercial low voltage/cable installation experience.
• Strong fiber optic installation and testing experience.
• Experience pulling, routing, terminating, and testing copper cabling.
• Strong knowledge of Cat5e, Cat6, and Cat6A cabling.
• Experience with fiber test equipment, including OTDRs and power meters.
• Ability to read and interpret low voltage blueprints and cable layouts.
• Previous lead technician or crew-lead experience preferred.
• Must have valid driver’s license and reliable transportation preferred.

• Pull, route, dress, terminate, and test copper cabling including Cat5e, Cat6, and Cat6A
• Install, terminate, test, and troubleshoot fiber optic cabling
• Perform fiber testing using power meters, light sources, and OTDRs
• Read and interpret blueprints, floor plans, cable schedules, and low voltage drawings
• Lead and coordinate other technicians on commercial job sites
• Communicate with project managers, customers, GCs, and other trades
• Maintain quality, productivity, and safety standards throughout each project
• Travel throughout the Dallas‑Fort Worth area to various commercial job sites

Lead Low Voltage Cable Technician – Dallas-Fort Worth, TX

Responsibilities

• Lead and perform commercial low voltage cable installations on job sites throughout the DFW area
• Pull, route, dress, terminate, and test copper cabling including Cat5e, Cat6, and Cat6A
• Install, terminate, test, and troubleshoot fiber optic cabling
• Perform fiber testing using power meters, light sources, and OTDRs
• Read and interpret blueprints, floor plans, cable schedules, and low voltage drawings
• Install cable pathways, J-hooks, ladder racks, cable tray, sleeves, and other low voltage infrastructure
• Perform copper testing and certification using appropriate test equipment
• Troubleshoot cabling issues and identify installation or termination problems
• Lead and coordinate other technicians on commercial job sites
• Communicate with project managers, customers, GCs, and other trades
• Maintain quality, productivity, and safety standards throughout each project
• Work safely on ladders, lifts, and at heights when required
• Travel throughout the Dallas‑Fort Worth area to various commercial job sites

Requirements

• 5–10 years of commercial low voltage/cable installation experience
• Strong fiber optic installation and testing experience required
• Experience pulling, routing, terminating, and testing copper cabling
• Strong knowledge of Cat5e, Cat6, and Cat6A cabling
• Experience with fiber optic cabling, termination, testing, and troubleshooting
• Experience using fiber test equipment, including OTDRs and power meters
• Ability to read and interpret low voltage blueprints and cable layouts
• Previous lead technician or crew-lead experience preferred
• Experience working on commercial construction or low voltage projects
• Comfortable working from ladders and lifts and at heights
• Ability to troubleshoot issues independently and provide direction to other technicians
• BICSI, OSHA, lift, or manufacturer certifications are a plus
• Must have basic hand tools and required PPE
• Must be willing to travel throughout the Dallas‑Fort Worth area as needed
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation preferred
