Job summary

Clark Construction Group in McLean, VA is seeking a Low-Code Application Developer to own Mendix-based applications, modernize legacy systems, and collaborate with IT leadership and vendors. This onsite role emphasizes hands-on development, troubleshooting, and long-term architectural improvements.

The candidate will design APIs, integrate with middleware, and document system behavior while providing technical leadership and staying engaged in development work.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field.
• 3+ years of experience developing and supporting custom software applications.
• Solid experience with SQL querying.
• Experience designing APIs or service-based integrations.
• Experience with HTML, CSS, and JavaScript for web applications.
• Experience with legacy 'brownfield' systems.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem‑solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and take ownership of technical solutions.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary technical owner for Mendix-based web applications.
• Maintain, troubleshoot, and enhance legacy applications to ensure stability and performance.
• Analyze and reverse‑engineer existing systems with limited documentation.
• Design improvements to architecture, code structure, and database design for long‑term maintainability.
• Build RESTful APIs or service layers for integration between enterprise apps and middleware.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to translate workflows into technical solutions.
• Document system behavior, architecture, and dependencies for better support.
• Provide technical leadership while remaining hands‑on in development and support.
