Job summary

One80 Intermediaries seeks a Loss Control Manager to lead loss-control and risk-management services for school districts, public entities, and institutional clients. You will turn complex insurance concepts into practical guidance that helps members prevent losses and manage risk with confidence.

You will develop loss-control programs, conduct evaluations across property and operations, and design engaging trainings for diverse audiences while traveling regularly to client sites and conferences.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated experience in property and casualty insurance loss control, risk management, safety, or property inspection.
• Strong working knowledge of commercial property and casualty loss control principles.
• Knowledge of commercial property appraisal methods and data collection.
• Ability to independently conduct field inspections, evaluate exposures, and develop practical recommendations.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong public speaking and presentation skills, comfortable with both small groups and large audiences.
• Analytical and mathematical aptitude, with the ability to translate data into clear conclusions to non-technical audiences.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
• Valid driver's license and ability to travel regularly.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and continuously improve loss-control programs for our Trusts, Pools, and Associations.
• Conduct property and casualty loss-control evaluations, identifying exposures across property, operations, vehicles, and facilities.
• Design and deliver engaging loss-control and safety presentations and training, from small group sessions to large conferences and online platforms.
• Develop and administer a property appraisal system for Association members and non-member school districts, using field data and electronic measuring tools.
• Analyze claims and loss data to identify trends and prioritize initiatives with the greatest impact.
• Build strong, trusted relationships with member organizations as their go-to resource on risk management.
• Prepare and present quarterly loss-control performance reports to governing boards and program managers.
• Manage the Loss Control department budget and collaborate with claims, underwriting, and program administration.
• Lead special projects and initiatives as assigned.
