Job summary

Summit Utility Services is hiring a Lead Locate Technician in Bellevue, NE. The role oversees Locate Technicians, distributes workloads, and mentors staff while maintaining safety and quality standards.

You will interact with the public, homeowners, contractors and internal teams, perform PDR/damage investigations, and help resolve complex locate challenges. Weekend and travel may be required based on project needs.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Clean background check for access to restricted and/or controlled areas.
• Valid driver license with acceptable driving record.
• Ability to pass random drug screens and to remain drug free.
• Ability to locate.
• Ability to effectively perform a PDR or damage investigation.
• Excellent communication skills at all levels.

Responsibilities

• Supervision of Locate Technicians and workload distribution.
• Maintain force to load requirements and schedules.
• Mentor Technicians for performance improvement.
• Assist in damage resolution and complex locate jobs.
• Interpret reports (PDR, audits, production) and ensure accuracy.
• Coordinate with homeowners, public and contractors as needed.
• Oversee vehicle and equipment inspections and inventory orders.
