Job summary

Summit Utility Services in Council Bluffs, IA seeks a Lead Locate Technician to supervise locator crews and oversee workload distribution, ensuring safe and accurate underground utility locating operations.

You will coordinate with Corporate, handle IT and purchasing tasks with homeowners and the public, and mentor technicians for performance improvements while maintaining compliance and quality standards.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Clean background check for access to restricted areas.
• Valid driver license with acceptable driving record.
• Ability to pass random drug screens and remain drug free.

Responsibilities

• Supervision of Locate Technicians.
• Oversight of workload distribution.
• Customer relations and interaction with Corporate.
• IT and purchasing along with homeowners and the general public.
• Oversight of disciplinary action.
• Inspections of vehicles and equipment.
• Inventory ordering.
• Mentor Technicians for performance improvement.
• Assist in damage resolution when necessary.
• Interpret all reports (PDR, audits, production).
• Assist in difficult locate jobs when necessary.
• Maintain force to load requirements.
• Performance Reviews for staff.
