Job summary

eBay is seeking a Senior Manager, Live Seller Risk Policy to own the end-to-end risk framework for eBay Live. You will define how live sellers are evaluated, onboarded, monitored, and graduated, collaborating with Product, Engineering, Data Science, and Compliance to scale controls.

You will lead loss management and risk monitoring, calibrate live-specific enforcement, and invest in foundational risk capabilities to support rapid growth across categories and markets.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of marketplace risk, trust and safety, fraud prevention, or related risk disciplines.
• 5+ years of people leadership experience.
• Proven track record designing, operationalizing, and scaling lifecycle risk frameworks from scratch.
• Experience partnering with Product, Engineering, Data Science, and Risk Operations teams.
• Outstanding analytical capability; comfortable with performance data and executive-level recommendations.
• Experience owning a loss budget or financial risk target and communicating trade-offs to leadership.
• Strong written and verbal communication to align across multi-functional groups.

Responsibilities

• Manage Seller Risk losses end-to-end for eBay Live, setting targets and adjusting policies to keep losses within thresholds.
• Partner with Finance and Data Science to build loss forecasts and translate risk signals into forward-looking exposure estimates for planning.
• Serve as the decision-maker for risk/reward trade-offs and clearly communicate implications to senior leadership.
• Monitor risk patterns across the seller lifecycle and design targeted interventions to address root causes.
• Define live-specific detection logic and progressive privilege tiers; implement proportionate enforcement without harming seller experience.
• Invest in foundational risk capabilities (infrastructure, data pipelines, tooling) and drive cross-functional delivery.
