Job summary

eBay Live is seeking a Staff Data Scientist to lead end-to-end analyses that drive growth across Seller, Buyer, and Categories. You will manage projects, define metrics, and build data pipelines with engineering to scale product-impact analytics for Live.

You will apply advanced experimentation, econometrics, and ML/AI to deliver measurable insights, dashboards, and decision-ready recommendations to senior leaders. Remote roles are not eligible for US sponsorship.

Qualifications

• MS in a quantitative field or equivalent experience.
• 7+ years in analytics or data science with multiple production-quality projects.
• Strong SQL and Python skills; expertise in experimentation and econometrics.

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end analyses for live commerce features and define product metrics.
• Lead experiments that inform the roadmap and oversee rigorous reviews of peers' analyses.
• Model category-market dynamics and size opportunities; architect lightweight data assets to unblock analyses.
• Analyze marketplace risk signals and guide guardrail development and monitoring; apply ML/AI techniques.
• Clarify metric taxonomies and ensure instrumentation quality; build dashboards and automate recurring tasks.
• Synthesize performance narratives and influence decisions with evidence-based recommendations.
