Job summary

Career Developers Inc. in Los Angeles, CA is seeking an experienced Litigation Legal Assistant Lead to join its litigation support team onsite.

You will lead daily workflow, mentor staff, and handle complex drafting, filing, and calendar matters while remaining hands-on in litigation support. The role requires 5 years of litigation experience, strong scheduling and document skills, and leadership capabilities.

Qualifications

• 5 years of litigation experience within a mid-size or large law firm.
• Strong knowledge of CA state and federal court procedures and rules.
• Leadership experience including training or mentoring staff and overseeing workflow.
• Strong electronic calendaring and docketing experience.
• Experience with docketing software such as Compulaw or Milana is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, organize, format, edit, and proofread complex legal documents and forms.
• Prepare and assist with electronic filings in CA state and federal courts.
• Determine and calendar critical dates from court documents and correspondence.
• Prepare TOCs, TOAs, exhibits, binders, and other litigation materials.
• Assist attorneys with conflicts checks and opening new matters.
• Maintain electronic and paper client and administrative files.
• Coordinate attorney calendars, meetings, and correspondence.
• Assist with expense reports and monthly billing.
• Support attorneys and paralegals in hearings, mediations, arbitrations, and trials.
• Mentor and onboard team members on calendaring/docketing procedures.
