Job summary

Southern California Edison (SCE) is seeking a Senior Attorney Litigation Attorney to lead a broad range of in-house matters, including tort, regulatory, and corporate governance. You will supervise outside counsel, work with senior management, and drive strategy in compliance with industry regulations.

Hybrid work mode with California residency required. The role demands a JD, 8+ years of legal practice, and CA bar status or readiness to obtain it, plus strong communication and analytical skills

Qualifications

• Juris Doctor from an accredited law school.
• Eight or more years of experience practicing law in firm, corporate or government settings.
• Current member in good standing of the State Bar of California or willingness to become accredited.

Responsibilities

• Conducts complex legal analysis to craft strategies and interpretations for important issues.
• Leads the development and implementation of legal strategies and SCE's position on regulatory changes.
• Represents the company at significant public, business and legal gatherings with government officials.
• Guides regulation development, business processes, safety, ethics and compliance with business acumen.
• Leads the provision of legal advice on corporate development and strategic initiatives.
• Oversees regulatory litigation and prepares pleadings.
• Handles regulatory matters with PUC and FERC, including filings and testimonies.
• Oversees drafting, review and negotiation of complex agreements and risk assessment.
• Oversees securities laws and corporate governance compliance.
• Manages docket of litigation and investigations with outside counsel.
• Protects company assets and sensitive information with high integrity.
