Job summary

Referment is seeking an Engineering Manager to own Linux platform security for a high-performance, production-critical environment. You will lead a technical team while remaining closely involved in engineering work, turning ambitious security ideas into practical controls.

You will define the technical roadmap, balance security with usability and resilience, and mentor engineers across infrastructure teams to adopt robust authentication, identity, and trust models.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience securing complex Linux/Unix environments and delivering security engineering into production.
• Proven track record of leading engineers and technical projects through ambiguity.
• Strong understanding of authentication, authorisation, certificates and cryptographic primitives.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop the engineering team responsible for Linux and platform security.
• Define the technical roadmap, identify vulnerabilities and attack paths with highest risk.
• Design, build and deploy security improvements across a large Linux estate.
• Remain closely involved in prototyping and technical problem-solving.
• Collaborate with infrastructure teams to strengthen authentication and privileged workflows.
