Job summary

HealthFitness is seeking a Lead Lifeguard & Recreation Assistant for Marysville, OH. This full-time role supports safety and community well-being in our aquatic facility.

Responsibilities include monitoring patrons, enforcing rules, and assisting with programming and events. Requirements include Red Cross lifeguard certifications, CPR/AED/First Aid, and Lifeguard Instructor credentials.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Lifeguarding with CPR/AED for Professional Rescuers and First Aid certification.
• Water Safety Instructor certification.
• Lifeguard Instructor certification.
• Meet HealthFitness Fitness and Skill standards.
• Proficient with MS Office and member management systems.
• Pre-employment drug test.

Responsibilities

• Monitor safety and well-being of patrons in the aquatic facilities.
• Enforce and explain rules as necessary.
• Respond to emergencies and perform rescues.
• Perform chemical testing and document results for two pools and a hot tub four times daily.
• Attend required staff meetings and trainings.
• Assist Aquatics Coordinator with programming, training lifeguards, and scheduling.
• Set up/tear down events and assist with scorekeeping.
• Maintain a professional attitude and environment for members.

Works with Aquatics Coordinator to ensure proper operation of the aquatic's facilities.Attend all required staff meetings and training.Assist Aquatics Coordinator with implementation of programming, training lifeguards, and scheduling.Ensure that needs of the aquatic center are being met by cleaning and inspecting the Aquatics Facility to ensure safe environment for members.Assist Recreation Coordinator with set-up/tear down of local events (Marysville, Raymond, and East Liberty) and scorekeeping.Maintain a professional attitude.Other duties as needed/assigned.Minimum RequirementsMust be at least 18 years old.American Red Cross Lifeguarding with CPR/AED for Professional Rescuers and First Aid certification.Current American Red Cross Water Safety Instructor certification.Current American Red Cross Lifeguard Instructor certification.Meet HealthFitness Fitness and Skill standards.Be dependable, alert and able to interact with people of all ages in a positive manner with strong customer service skills.Computer proficiency in MS Office including Word, Excel and Outlook; and working knowledge of the member management system, databases, and tools.All lifeguards are required to perform a basic lifeguard skill test consisting of:500 yard swim.Active, Passive, Submerged rescues.Spinal injury management in shallow and deep water.Other various techniques that were learned during the Lifeguard Training Program.Applicants must meet hiring requirements including but not limited to pre-employment drug test. The compensation range for this role is $16.00 - $17.00/hour + comprehensive benefits package. The final wage offer will be determined based on factors such as location, qualifications, experience, skill set, and other relevant factors.
