The Office of Academic Affairs, URecFit and Wellness have an opportunity for part time, contractual Lead Lifeguard (Contingent Category I Contractual Employment) in the SMC Campus Center.
URecFit and Wellness is committed to enriching the academic experience as well as encouraging the physical, mindful, cultural, spiritual, emotional, and social development of the UMB community. Under general supervision, the Lead Lifeguard will occasionally work nights and weekends as required for this position. The selected candidate will exercise discretion and judgment with considerable consequences of error.
UMB is a public university and constituent institution of the University System of Maryland. All employees are expected to work primarily physically within the State of Maryland.
*This position is a non-benefited, Contingent Category I Contractual position; Mostly weekday with evening and weekend work required*

Experience: N/A.
Certification/Licensure: Current, valid Lifeguard Instructor certification is required. Current, valid Professional Rescuer Lifeguard certification by American Red Cross or other equivalent nationally recognized agency is required. CPR, AED, and First Aid certification is required.
Supervisory Experience: N/A.
Other: Complete a 100-yard untimed, continuous swim test, 2-minute treading, and 10-lb. brick retrieval with 20-yard swim. Applicants must be 15 years old or older and pass a background check.
Hiring Range: Hourly rate for this position is $18.22.
