Job summary

Salvation Army Kroc Center Augusta seeks a Lead Lifeguard to maintain pool safety and cleanliness, supervise lifeguards, and support daily aquatics operations. The role includes training staff, recording incidents, and ensuring compliance with safety policies.

You will work closely with the Aquatics Manager, monitor water quality, and provide exceptional customer service to patrons. Two years lifeguard experience and ARC certifications are required.

Qualifications

• Two years of lifeguarding experience.
• Must possess valid American Red Cross Lifeguarding Certificate and American Red Cross First Aid Certificate.
• Certified in American Red Cross CPR for the Professional Rescuer or certification within 30 days of employment.

Responsibilities

• Maintain safety and cleanliness of the aquatic facility.
• Provide training and oversight of lifeguards on duty.
• Assist Aquatics Manager with pool operations and maintenance.
• Test and record water quality and maintain supplies inventory.

Location: Kroc Center – Augusta GAFull-timeThis position is responsible for:The Lead Lifeguard will be responsible for maintaining the safety and cleanliness of the aquatic facility and providing general oversight of the aquatics area in the absence of the Aquatics Manager. They will provide training and general oversight over the other lifeguards on duty.Key Responsibilities:Develops and maintains a close working relationship with the Aquatics Manager, Aquatics Coordinator, internal and external clients in order to create and maintain a safe and positive experience.Assist as needed the Aquatics Manger with the operation and maintenance of the pool and equipment; conduct daily walk-through of facility to ensure appropriate appearance; document needed repairs and maintenance; maintain accurate inventory of first-aid, chemical, operating and program supplies; coordinator the purchase of necessary equipment and supplies.Safeguards and regulates conduct of pool patrons, enforces pool policies, rules, and regulations, Rescues patrons and performs appropriate follow-up procedures, including the proper use of equipment in the performance of first aid.Test water quality in pool and maintains appropriate records.Assists in the proper maintenance and sanitary upkeep of the pool, pool area, and locker rooms.Participates in the preparation of daily records.Provides written reports on all accidents, Maintains proper updated safety requirements.Attends in-service training and instructs certain skills to staff.Conducts patron swimming test to assess ability to swim independently and unattended.Provides excellent internal and external customer service.
