JOB SUMMARY Under general supervision, the Lead Indoor Lifeguard (Part-Time) ensures the safety, cleanliness, and operational efficiency of the aquatic facility. This position leads by example in preventing, recognizing, and responding to aquatic emergencies, while also assisting with administrative, supervisory, and customer service functions. The Lead Lifeguard supports the Aquatics Program Coordinator by monitoring staff performance, upholding safety standards, and ensuring positive interactions with patrons and employees.**ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:*** Prevent and respond to emergency situations in or out of the water.* Supervise a team of aquatics staff to ensure smooth daily operations.* Train and maintain training records for a team of aquatics staff.* Work effectively with the public and staff to address inquiries, provide assistance, resolve complaints, and support facility maintenance needs.* Assist in coordinating customer survey projects to improve services and facility operations.* Learn and apply office and site procedures involving customer service, general administration, safety, and facility maintenance.* Schedule personnel as needed to ensure adequate coverage and public safety.* Oversee completion of hours reporting for payroll purposes.* Coordinate and schedule programs such as public events, facility rentals, and special meetings.* Monitor aquatics staff performance and take corrective action when needed to uphold safety and service standards.* Maintain accurate records including payroll documentation, incident reports, and other administrative records.* Operate aquatic facility tools and equipment including, but not limited to, pool vacuums, air pumps, and lifesaving equipment such as backboards, rescue tubes, ring buoys, and shepherd’s crooks.**OTHER JOB FUNCTIONS:*** Act as Aquatics Program Coordinator as needed.* Report all suspected cases per training guidelines when required.* Serve as the primary liaison and support resource for the Aquatics Program Coordinator.* Ability to operate a variety of office equipment including but not limited to PC, telephone, calculator, scanner, and copier.* Work collaboratively with organizations, community groups, and departments to support facility access, provide program information, and conduct facility orientations.* Perform additional job‐related duties as assigned by the supervisor.**MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:** Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:* Knowledge of aquatic safety practices, emergency response procedures, and American Red Cross rescue techniques.* Knowledge of CPR, First Aid, and proper use of lifesaving equipment.* Ability to remain alert and respond quickly and effectively to emergencies in and around the pool area.* Ability to enforce facility rules consistently, fairly, and professionally while maintaining positive customer relations.* Skill in performing water rescues, administering CPR and First Aid, and following established emergency action plans.* Ability to communicate clearly and courteously with patrons, co-workers, and management, both in person and over the phone.* Knowledge of rescue techniques for water‐related incidents and trauma situations.* Knowledge of general office and facility management procedures.* Ability to learn and apply computer skills to process registrations, authorize refunds, and account for site revenues.* Ability to maintain facility cleanliness and safety.* Ability to supervise and monitor the performance of others, including providing corrective guidance.* Ability to maintain accurate records, documentation, and files.* Ability to monitor water conditions and facility equipment, including routine chemical testing and inventory control.Qualifying Education and Experience:* High school diploma or equivalent; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.* Must be at least 17 years of age.* Must possess a current American Red Cross Lifeguarding with CPR, First Aid, and AED Certification.* Possess a current American Red Cross Lifeguarding Instructor Certification within the first six (6) months of employment.* Two (2) years of experience in aquatic facility operations or customer service, including one year in a supervisory role.**PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:** Preferred Education and Experience:* Possess a current American Red Cross Water Safety Instructor Certification within the first year of employment.**PRE-EMPLOYMENT SCREENING:*** Criminal background check* Drug and alcohol testing
