Job summary

The Cleveland Museum of Art seeks a Serials and Electronic Resources Librarian for the Ingalls Library and Museum Archives. You will lead acquisition, processing, and access to serials, auction catalogs, dealer catalogs, and electronic resources, while shaping policies and workflows to support scholars and staff.

You will supervise staff, coordinate licensing, and manage access through WorldShare Collection Manager and EZProxy, collaborating with IT and curators to deliver reliable access for

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in library science (MLIS or equivalent) from an ALA-accredited program.
• Bachelor’s degree in art history or related field preferred.
• Minimum of three years in an academic or research library with at least two years in serials or electronic resources experience.
• Knowledge of trends in serials and electronic resources management.
• Experience with library systems and vendor relations.
• Experience with licensing electronic resources and use of link resolvers.
• Working knowledge of foreign languages.
• Supervisory experience.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Supervise administrative duties for serials and electronic resources staff, work-study students, interns, and volunteers.
• Oversee serials collection development and budget preparation.
• Plan acquisition, processing, access, and use of serials and catalogues.
• Negotiate licensing terms for electronic resources and monitor usage statistics.
• Maintain subscriptions and manage dealer catalogs.
• Coordinate CARTA membership and create catalog records for digitized eBooks.
• Ensure access to electronic resources via links, IPs, and proxies; troubleshoot with vendors and IT.
• Collaborate on cataloging of serials and special items; manage dealer catalog boxes.
• Plan future storage and facility needs for serials and catalogues.
• Provide reference services related to serials and electronic resources.
