Job summary

Indiana Historical Society in Indianapolis, IN, seeks a Cataloging & Archival Support Librarian to manage the integrated library catalog and oversee cataloging of all material formats. You will handle original and copy cataloging, define policies, and train staff across the department.

The role reports to the Director, Reference Services and requires a MLS with cataloging coursework, strong OCLC knowledge, and LC classification expertise, plus excellent communication.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Library Science with cataloging coursework.
• Experience in original and copy cataloging for all formats.
• Knowledge of archival processing and Library of Congress systems.

Responsibilities

• Perform original and copy cataloging for all material formats.
• Define cataloging policies and provide training.
• Update Archives and Library web pages and assist reference duties.
• Support all stages of accessioning, processing, preservation, and metadata entry.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
