Qualifications

• Ph.D. required with strong clinical or research background.
• 5+ years of professional experience in speech-language pathology, literacy, achievement, school or clinical psychology, and/or early childhood.
• Clinical experience administering/interpreting standardized assessments and understanding their use in real-world settings.
• Strong knowledge of test development, measurement principles, research methodology, data analysis, and psychometrics.

Responsibilities

• Develop and lead research plans supporting new product development and portfolio priorities.
• Provide subject-matter expertise and scientific leadership in relevant assessments.
• Define product scope and assessment design to ensure scientific soundness and clinical relevance.
• Lead item development, review, and evaluation using research and clinical insights.
• Collaborate with psychometricians to review data and findings.
• Identify opportunities to apply AI and emerging technologies in development and research workflows.
• Oversee assessment materials including digital interfaces, manuals, and stimuli.
• Support product commercialization with scientific input for training and materials.
• Represent Pearson through conference presentations, publications, and scholarly activities.
• Maintain flexibility to collaborate with international colleagues (~10% time).
• Travel approximately 10%.
