Qualifications

• Ph.D. in Speech-Language Pathology, Communication Sciences and Disorders, Early Childhood Development, School or Clinical Psychology, or related field.
• 5+ years of professional experience in speech, literacy, academic achievement, school or clinical psychology, and/or early childhood.
• Clinical experience with standardized assessments and their real-world use.

Responsibilities

• Develop and lead research plans supporting new product development and portfolio priorities.
• Provide subject-matter and scientific leadership in relevant assessments.
• Help define product scope and design to be scientifically sound and clinically meaningful.
• Lead item development, review, and evaluation using research and clinical expertise.
• Collaborate with psychometricians to review data and findings.
• Identify opportunities to apply AI and emerging technologies to development and innovation.
• Oversee assessment materials, including digital interfaces and scoring resources.
• Support commercialization and customer-facing materials with scientific input.
• Represent Pearson in scholarly activities and conferences.
• Coordinate with international colleagues (approx. 10% travel).
