Job summary

Northeastern University seeks an Assistant Director, Leadership Giving to advance the leadership giving program. You will identify and cultivate prospects, manage a portfolio, and collaborate across University Advancement and colleges to secure higher-level gifts.

The role prioritizes donor engagement, strategic solicitations, and ensuring growth of leadership giving across the university ecosystem.

Qualifications

• 1–3 years in a development-related environment.
• Strong interpersonal skills for relationship-building with donors/prospects, deans, faculty, staff, and colleagues.
• Able to work collaboratively and adapt as the program evolves.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Willingness to travel as necessary.
• Bachelor’s degree required.

Responsibilities

• Build and manage a portfolio of leadership-level donor/prospects with potential to grow to major gifts.
• Identify, qualify, cultivate, solicit, and steward donors to enhance giving potential.
• Engage donors/prospects at leadership level to move toward major/principal gifts.
• Meet and exceed engagement and fundraising metrics.
• Log activity in Salesforce and maintain data integrity.
• Collaborate across University Advancement and academic units to support cultivation and stewardship.
