Job summary

Melwood is seeking a Landscaping Lead Worker to supervise outdoor maintenance tasks from 7:00 am to 3:30 pm. You will perform mowing, edging, pruning, and material handling under the Landscaping Foreman’s guidance to meet contract specifications.

Responsibilities include operating various mowers and power tools, assisting with snow removal, and maintaining grounds under safety guidelines. A valid driver’s license and background checks are required.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of landscape maintenance experience including mowing and weeding.
• Ability to work independently and follow directions.
• Must have a valid driver’s license and pass background checks as part of Melwood’s program.

Responsibilities

• Cut lawns with hand or power mowers.
• Edge and trim around walks and beds with clippers and edging tools.
• Prune shrubs and trees for shape and growth.
• Rake leaves; sweep litter from areas.
• Shovel snow from walks and driveways; spread salt as needed.
• Plant grass, flowers, trees, and shrubs.
• Water lawn and shrubs during dry spells.
• Maintain drainage ditches and culverts.
• Operate mowers, snow blowers, or other equipment as needed.
• Use power tools like chainsaws and hedge trimmers when required.
• Operate tractors with attachments for turf tasks.
• Perform general labor tasks after yard work is complete.
• Other duties as assigned by supervisor.
