Job summary

Brophy College Preparatory is seeking a Lead Landscaper to oversee daily grounds operations and a dedicated crew on a Jesuit campus in Phoenix, AZ. You will manage irrigation, tree care, seasonal planting, and maintenance of grass areas while ensuring safety and high standards.

Responsibilities include training staff, operating commercial equipment, and coordinating an annual grounds schedule. This is a full-time, non-exempt role with competitive pay and benefits.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3–5+ years hands-on landscaping experience with supervisory exposure.
• Demonstrated knowledge of commercial irrigation troubleshooting, timer programming, and piping/valve repairs.
• Strong understanding of local plant material, tree structure, pruning techniques, and seasonal flower care.
• Skilled in operating and maintaining commercial-grade mowers, trimmers, pressure washers, blowers, and hand tools.
• Ability to work outdoors in variable weather, lift up to 50+ lbs, and meet shift demands.

Responsibilities

• Lead, motivate, and direct daily landscape crew operations for commercial and residential properties.
• Ensure work is completed on schedule and to high quality standards; enforce safety protocols and PPE usage.
• Train crew on equipment operation, safety practices, and best practices in irrigation and landscaping.
• Perform inspections, troubleshooting, and repairs on irrigation systems and seasonal maintenance tasks.
• Operate heavy power equipment and perform power washing of hardscapes and building exteriors.
