Job summary

Timmons Group is seeking a motivated Land Planner Project Manager to join our Private Development Land Planning practice. This client-facing role delivers entitlement, feasibility, and site planning for large-scale residential, commercial, and mixed-use projects, integrating with civil engineering and landscape architecture.

You will lead a small technical team, manage multiple entitlement projects from proposal to approval, and help grow the practice alongside senior leadership.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Urban/Regional Planning, Landscape Architecture, Geography, or Engineering.
  • 8+ years in land planning with private development or EDAs.
  • AICP within one year is expected but not required at application.
  • Strong leadership and client-management skills.
  • Proficiency in ArcGIS, AutoCAD, and Adobe Creative Suite.
  • Ability to work with multiple teams and public hearings.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and grow the Private Development Land Planning practice and manage a small team.
  • Oversee entitlement projects from proposal through approval with cross-disciplinary coordination.
  • Represent clients at rezoning, SUP, and hearings.
  • Develop feasibility analyses and planning-level cost estimates.
  • Support business development and staff recruitment.

Education

Bachelor’s degree in Urban/Regional Planning or related
AICP certification within 1 year
