Job summary

DuPont in Sayreville, NJ is hiring a Lead Laboratory Technician for our Parlin manufacturing site. The role supports analytical lab operations for quality control of monomer mixtures and raw materials, with emphasis on safety and compliance.

The candidate will perform instrument analysis (HPLC, GC, FTIR, DSC, UV-Vis, XRF), develop test methods, and generate reports while coordinating with R&D and production teams. Weekend and overtime work may be required.

Qualifications

• B.Sc. degree in Chemistry or equivalent; minimum 2 years in an industrial lab/QC setting.
• Demonstrated history of safe laboratory work practices.
• Strong instrumental software skills; capable with sample prep, analysis, and result interpretation (HPLC, GC, FTIR, TMA, UV-Vis, XRF, DSC).
• Available to work weekends, some holidays, and overtime as needed.
• Excellent written and verbal communication; able to summarize data and generate reports.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate safety, environmental responsibility and ethical behavior.
• Analyze samples using HPLC, GC, FTIR, DSC, UV-Vis, XRF and other instruments.
• Record, transmit analytical results and write reports for special projects.
• Operate laser scanner equipment and calibrate instruments per SOPs.
• Purchase materials and maintain laboratory inventories.
• Develop new test methods and write SOPs for equipment.
• Maintain data records, logs, and quality records for ISO compliance.
• Prioritize multiple instruments and projects and manage priorities.
