You will lead training, conduct annual evaluations, and help develop policies while coordinating with IACUC, USDA, and AAALAC reviews.

Qualifications

  • Associate or Bachelor’s degree in related field.
  • 6+ years of experience in the care and husbandry of laboratory animals or LATG/CMAR.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds and stand the duration of shift; perform repetitive physical activities.
  • Preferred: 3+ years of supervisory experience.
  • Preferred: Knowledge of LEAN concepts and operational efficiency.

Responsibilities

  • Operations- Supervise daily operations ensuring the facility's compliance with local, state and federal regulations; schedule animal technicians and monitor workload; participate in IACUC, USDA and AAALAC reviews; assist in budgets and strategic planning.
  • Supervision- Prepare and administer employee evaluations; provide training to new employees; define job requirements and goals; participate in selection and interviewing of laboratory animal technicians.
  • Customer Service and Problem Solving- act as a resource for research staff; triage health cases; analyze housing space usage; identify root causes; ensure SOP/IACUC compliance; maintain facility biosecurity.
