Job summary

Mission Hospital in Asheville, NC, is seeking a Clinical Nurse Coordinator for the Labor and Delivery (L&D) unit to lead high-quality, patient-centered care during the assigned shift. You will direct nursing care, monitor adherence to policies, and coordinate admissions, discharges, and staffing to ensure efficient throughput.

Collaborate with management to foster teamwork, coach staff, and implement nursing strategies that improve outcomes.

Qualifications

• Associates Degree of Science in Nursing is required.
• RN license in North Carolina or eNLC with NC BON validation.
• One year of nursing experience required.
• BLS Healthcare Provider certification required.
• ACLS and Neonatal Resuscitation must be obtained within 30 days of start date.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate all unit functions during assigned shift.
• Ensure compliance with policies, procedures, and regulatory standards.
• Assist with admission and discharge processes for efficient throughput.
• Collaborate with leadership to create a teamwork-focused environment.
• Support nursing strategies like rounding to improve engagement and outcomes.
• Provide coaching, feedback and training to staff to enhance performance.
• Assist with staff recruitment and training decisions as needed.
• Assist with staff scheduling and labor management according to patient care needs.
