Job summary

University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS) seeks a Clinical Specialist (CS) who will function across patient, nurse, and system spheres with advanced nursing knowledge. The CS leads orientation, professional development, and evidence-based practice, collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to drive quality and regulatory compliance.

The role requires an RN license, BSN, and 4+ years of clinical experience including leadership roles; MSN and national certification are preferred.

Qualifications

Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license.
Bachelor's degree in Nursing (BSN).
Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
Four (4)+ years of clinical experience, including at least two (2) years of experience in the specialty area.
Two (2)+ years of leadership experience (Charge Nurse, Team Lead, or RN IV at UAMS).
Master’s degree in nursing (MSN) is preferred.
National Nursing Certification in the specialty area is preferred.

Responsibilities

The Clinical Specialist provides theory and evidence-based knowledge shaping practice and core competencies for the unit nursing staff.
Provides area leadership in orientation, professional development, skills/competency validation, and quality improvement.
Collaborates with multidisciplinary teams as a leader, consultant, and change agent; communicates effectively and demonstrates problem-solving.
