Every day in the lab, our team works on distillation, extraction, winterization, and producing cannabis-infused products. The Lab Technician handles the daily details of lab operations. The ideal candidate is a positive team player with keen attention to detail. As a naturally curious individual, you will study and understand all policies, procedures, and operational guidelines set by management to help our lab meet high standards. Provides direction to the team in the absence of the Lab Supervisor.
Responsibilities
- Leads and ensures accurate preparation of oil and MIP formulations.
- Maintains inventory of the designated space.
- Responsible for hygiene, organization, and overall appearance of the laboratory.
- Familiar with basic scientific principles and laboratory experience. Capable of following written directions and maintaining a laboratory notebook.
- Addresses equipment failures and collaborates with leadership for complex issues and preventative maintenance.
- Follows all policies, procedures, and guidelines, including the safe operation of machinery and equipment.
- Sets up, operates, and maintains laboratory instruments; monitors experiments; records observations and results.
- Performs analytical testing such as HPLC to support quality control.
- Maintains and enforces Chemical Hygiene Policy and proper labeling.
- May monitor production lines and collect samples for analysis.
- Follows SOPs and analytical procedures to ensure compliance with GLP and GMP standards.
- Records data in notebooks, databases, and test reports.
- Communicates effectively with coworkers and management.
- Practices good housekeeping to keep the lab clean and organized.
- Works safely with hazardous chemicals, reporting unsafe conditions.
- Adapts work schedule as needed for production demands.
- Provides supervision to Lab Tech and Lab Tech Senior.
- Performs technical writing as required.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Ability to establish effective working relationships.
- Basic to intermediate math skills.
- Knowledge of OSHA guidelines for hazardous chemicals.
- Understanding of and compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
- Proficiency with office and laboratory software.
- Laboratory best practices knowledge.
- Experience as a Laboratory Technician.
- Associate's degree or relevant certifications preferred.
- Intermediate laboratory experience.
- Equivalent education and experience may be considered.
Additional Requirements
- Pass background checks.
- Remain compliant with industry regulations.
- Minimum age of 21.
- Approval by the D.O.A. for an Agent badge.
Working Conditions
- Regularly perform grasping, talking, hearing, seeing, and repetitive motions.
- May need to stand or walk for extended periods; lift up to 50 pounds (200 with assistance).
- Exposure to allergens such as cannabis, nuts, and coconut oil.
