Job summary

UL Solutions is seeking a Laboratory Technician to support testing programs, evaluate results, and prepare detailed reports. You will lead simple test setups, operate instruments, train staff, and ensure safety and compliance across multiple projects.

The role requires a chemistry-related bachelor's degree, strong communication, and the ability to manage several tasks with quality. Teamwork and automation mindset are valued in a global safety science environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or diploma from an accredited university through a formal program of study in Chemistry or related discipline including Chemical Engineering, Biochemistry, Organic/Inorganic Chemistry, Material Science but not limited to these disciplines only.
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects while maintaining high quality and exceptional customer service.
• Demonstrated ability to successfully partner with Engineering and other Laboratory Personnel to complete projects in a timely manner with high quality.
• Demonstrated ability to analyze special testing needs.
• Effective communication skills and ability to interact with customers.
• Demonstrated ability to be innovative and creative.
• Desire to work in a team-oriented environment.
• Ability to use Microsoft Office suite is a must.
• Ability to incorporate automation into day-to-day testing

Responsibilities

• Follows defined test plans and datasheets with necessary supervision/support.
• Directs, builds and/or adapts simple test setups, sample preparations/solutions and instruments to new situations, based on test plans and instructions.
• Examines customer samples and learns to operate appropriate tests for each case with support.
• Operates and maintains test instruments appropriately to measure and test samples.
• For a single testing technology, integrates basic process and instruments improvements into all aspects of the job.
• Understands and follows safe chemical hygiene practices.
• Read and follow the Underwriters Laboratories Code of Conduct, and follow all physical and digital security practices.
• Other duties as assigned
