Job summary

Appian seeks a Lead Software Engineer to help re-architect our platform on public clouds and enable frequent, high-impact changes. You will work with a global, agile team to modernize services, leverage containers and microservices, and drive DevOps and automation across the development lifecycle.

Qualifications

• At least 7 years experience designing, building and architecting software in an enterprise software or Saas/Paas environment.
• Fluency in at least one programming language, such as Python, Golang, or Java.
• At least 5 years of experience working in Kubernetes ecosystem.
• Bachelor's in Computer Science or Engineering, or equivalent experience.

Responsibilities

• Help re-architect the platform on public clouds for frequent, high-impact changes.
• Ensure infrastructure is available, scalable, secure and meets the needs of a dynamic development team.
• Lead coaching of junior engineers and drive projects to impact.
• Review architectures and designs, identify problems and suggest better practices.
• Drive DevOps, Release Engineering and CI/CD across the development lifecycle.
