Job summary

Battle House Hotel and Spa seeks a Lead Maintenance - Kitchen to ensure the smooth operation of the hotel's kitchen facilities, assisting the Director of Engineering with day-to-day activities and focusing on maintaining and repairing kitchen equipment.

You will diagnose and repair ovens, fryers, steamers, dish machines, perform preventative maintenance, follow safety codes, keep detailed records, and coordinate with other departments to minimize disruption and uphold guest service standards.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair kitchen equipment including ice machines and gas/electric fryers, steamers, ovens, and dish machines.
• Perform routine cleaning and maintenance of grease traps to prevent blockages.
• Oversee refrigeration units such as walk-in coolers and freezers to ensure food safety.
• Regularly calibrate ovens, thermometers, and timers for consistent results.
• Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal codes for kitchen equipment.
• Follow MSDS and NFPA guidelines to promote safety and cleanliness.
• Respond promptly to service calls and prioritize urgent repairs.
• Maintain detailed records of maintenance work, parts used, and service requests.
• Support maintenance tasks for new construction projects as assigned.
• Foster open communication with other departments and pass on relevant information.
• Monitor spare parts inventory and submit purchase requisitions as needed.
