Job summary

The Salvation Army Knoxville Area Command in Knoxville, TN is seeking a skilled cook to plan, prepare, and serve nutritious meals for large groups, ensure safety and cleanliness, and supervise volunteers.

Ideal candidates have at least three years of experience cooking for large groups, Safe Food Certification, and the ability to manage kitchen operations, food inventory, and staff assignments in a busy kitchen.

Qualifications

• Three years’ experience cooking for large groups.
• Experience coordinating the work of kitchen staff preferred.
• Safe Food Certification required.

Responsibilities

• Plan, prepare and serve nutritious meals for large groups.
• Ensure all meals are prepared safely and meet guidelines and schedules.
• Maintain kitchen cleanliness and proper hygiene practices.
• Supervise volunteers and assign tasks to Kitchen Assistants.
• Monitor inventory, orders, and food purchases; manage receipts.
