Job summary

Canteen North America in Greenville, SC is hiring for a full-time CHEF position at GE Gas Turbines, 300 Garlington Road, Greenville, SC 29615. Schedule is Monday–Friday, 6:00 am–3:00 pm. Applicants should have prior culinary, leadership, and food safety experience.

Pay ranges from $18.00 to $23.00 per hour with benefits and a meal plan. Directs kitchen operations, coordinates and evaluates food-service staff, and ensures high-quality, safe meals.

Qualifications

• The candidate must have prior culinary experience, leadership capabilities, and food safety knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Supervises cooks and kitchen staff, ensuring food handling and sanitation standards.
• Manages hourly kitchen staff, including scheduling, payroll, training, and reviews.
• Prepares high-quality meals per standardized recipes to meet schedules and service needs.
• Maintains presentation, quality, portion control, and proper serving temperatures.
• Monitors food usage and waste to manage inventory.
• Inspects incoming products and supplies for quality and quantity.
• Maintains sanitation of equipment and workstation; keeps display area clean during service.
• Assists in selecting and developing recipes and menus.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
