Job summary

Butler Creek Animal Hospital in Kennesaw, GA seeks a Lead Kennel Assistant to care for boarding and hospitalized pets with daily feeding, exercise, and gentle handling. You’ll monitor wellbeing, document instructions, and support the medical team with timely updates.

Responsibilities include admissions/discharges, administering medications, maintaining clean kennel spaces, and providing TLC playtimes or baths as requested. We value safety, empathy, and teamwork in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Must be 16 years of age or older.
• Must be in the process of obtaining or have attained a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to read, write and speak English to perform duties.

Responsibilities

• Providing Compassionate Care: daily care to boarding pets and hospitalized patients, including feeding, watering, and exercising them according to schedule.
• Managing Admissions and Discharges: you'll handle check-ins and check-outs, recording feeding/medication instructions, labeling belongings, and ensuring every pet goes home clean and happy.
• Monitoring Patient Health: walk through the kennel area to check for vomiting, diarrhea, stress, and report issues to doctors and technicians.
• Administering Medications: administer medications and flea/tick control, recording instructions on the kennel board.
• Maintaining a Clean Environment: clean and disinfect cages, runs, yards, litter boxes, and bowls using PPE to control infectious diseases.
• Delivering TLC: perform extra playtimes, walks, or baths on request.
