Job summary

COCONINO COUNTY, AZ seeks a Detention Supervisor for the Juvenile Detention facility. Under general supervision you will oversee detention operations, staff scheduling, safety, and program delivery to support positive youth outcomes.

You will train and supervise Detention Living Unit staff, participate in hiring, monitor compliance with policies, and coordinate with partners to implement services and prevent safety incidents.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in related field and three years working with juveniles in a residential setting.
• Associate's degree in related field and four years working with juveniles in a residential setting.
• Five years working with juveniles in a residential setting OR any equivalent combination of education, training and experience.

Responsibilities

• Build positive working relationships with Detention Manager and staff to create a safe, learning environment for youths.
• Lead Detention Leadership Team to implement detention services supporting the Department's mission and model.
• Implement, quality assure and improve Detention programs and activities.
• Work as part of a team with staff, parents, probation officers, service providers and the community to help youths.
• Attend, observe and facilitate staff participation in detention activities and ensure policy adherence.
