Job summary

NorthWestern Energy seeks a Journeyman Lineman to perform power line installation, maintenance, and service work. The role may lead crews as foreman or leadsman and coordinate with engineers, ensuring safety, paperwork, planning, and equipment documentation.

The position offers comprehensive benefits and requires readiness for after-hours emergencies and call-out rotations, with placement in West Yellowstone, MT.

Qualifications

• Journeyman Lineman Certification required.
• Valid CDL and satisfactory driving record.
• First Aid/CPR Certification.
• Bucket truck and pole top rescue certification.
• Gas OQ and HAZMAT programs within 6 months of hire.
• Commitment to safe working practices and safety policies.
• Act as leadsman or foreman as needed.
• Adapt to technological changes as they are implemented.
• Get Into Energy - Energy Industry Fundamental 2.0 certification is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Communicate verbally and understand signals in safety situations.
• Troubleshoot outages and perform installation/maintenance on electric distribution systems.
• Perform gas distribution service work as qualified.
• Respond to emergency situations including after-hours calls.
• Maintain LNG storage and distribution system at West Yellowstone site.
• Work on overhead and underground electric lines, at heights.
• Lead response to emergency situations and interact with the public.
• Complete project documentation and planning records.
