Job summary

Amteck is hiring a Journeyman Electrician 1 (J1) to work under a Foreman or Superintendent and oversee a small crew. The role focuses on installation, alteration and repair of electrical systems, and expanding skills into low voltage, controls, and fire alarm disciplines.

The position emphasizes safety, teamwork, and hands-on development on diverse projects. Qualified candidates will have 5–7 years of electrical construction experience and the ability to read blueprints and project

Qualifications

• 5–7 years of electrical construction experience in commercial/industrial environments.
• Ability to read and interpret project specifications, blueprints and schematics.
• Willingness to mentor Helpers and Apprentices on site and work with a crew.

Responsibilities

• Work independently to measure, cut, bend, thread, assemble and install electrical conduit.
• Install and terminate electrical devices, fixtures, panels, and feeders.
• Demonstrate working knowledge of circuiting and read project drawings.
• Lay out small areas from electrical drawings and documents, including underground layout.
• Determine wire, conduit, and junction box sizing; troubleshoot lighting and general power circuits.
• Lead and mentor Helpers and Apprentices on the job site.
