Publicis Sapient in Irving, TX seeks a Principal Java Microservices Architect — AI & Agentic Platforms to lead the architecture, design, and implementation of our core distributed microservices ecosystem.

You will drive hands-on development with Java 17+/21+, Spring Boot, and cloud-native stacks across Google Cloud, AWS, and Azure, building AI-powered, high-concurrency backends with modern observability tooling.

Qualifications

• 12+ years of software engineering experience.
• 7+ years in microservices architecture, system design, or technical leadership.
• Hands-on development with Java (17/21), Spring Boot, Spring Cloud, Reactive Java, gRPC, GraphQL, WebSockets, REST APIs.
• TypeScript, Python for AI bindings and orchestration.
• Deep expertise in distributed backend microservices architecture, fault tolerance and caching.
• Experience designing AI-powered backend applications and cloud-native architectures.
• Strong cloud experience (Google Cloud / AWS / Azure) with Docker, Kubernetes, Istio, and observability tooling.

Responsibilities

• Lead architecture, design, and implementation of core microservices ecosystem.
• Guide AI agentic backend services and tool-calling frameworks.
• Drive high-concurrency Java backend systems with resilient design.
• Collaborate with AI teams and platform engineers on CI/CD and monitoring.
