Job Title: Lead Java Engineer (React JS)

Cognizant's Digital Engineering practice is seeking a highly qualified Lead Java Engineer with experience in React JS to develop and build high-performing, scalable, enterprise applications. You will be part of a digital software team working on high-demand applications, emphasizing high-quality, reliable, and maintainable code.

Our engineers collaborate closely with product managers, designers, and clients to make decisions that enable rapid delivery of valuable, working software. We foster an agile, retrospective environment focused on continuous improvement and customer satisfaction.

Plano, Texas

You must be legally authorized to work in the United States without employer sponsorship. Cognizant will not sponsor H-1B or other U.S. work authorization for this role.

Responsibilities

1. Participate in Scrum calls
2. Analyze existing customer applications
3. Prepare high-level technical documentation including interface specifications
4. Write clean, testable code using Java, Spring Boot, Microservices, AWS
5. Identify and fix technical issues in existing code
6. Refactor and upgrade existing codebases
7. Analyze performance issues in stored procedures and implement fixes
8. Perform proof of concepts (POCs), design services, components, and architecture considerations

Qualifications

1. Experience developing high-quality software solutions using AWS, React JS, SQL, Spring Boot, Java, JavaScript, and MySQL
2. Strong collaboration skills with cross-functional teams
3. Ability to ensure application performance, quality, and responsiveness
4. Problem-solving skills to identify and resolve bottlenecks and bugs
5. Experience with code quality, organization, and automation
6. Participate in code reviews and provide constructive feedback
7. Work with product managers and designers to translate requirements into technical specifications
8. Implement and manage CI/CD pipelines
9. Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior developers
10. Conduct testing and validation for robustness and reliability
11. Document designs, code, and processes
12. Share knowledge and best practices within the team
13. Deep understanding of Loan Booking and Document Management domains
14. Excellent problem-solving and communication skills
15. Preferred: Experience with Agile and DevOps practices
16. Ability to work in a hybrid model with day shifts
