Job summary

Aquent Talent partners with a leading financial services firm to hire a Lead Java Developer. You will shape customer and advisor experiences by building a core data platform with event-driven architecture and APIs.

Lead the design, development, and delivery of scalable solutions in a fast-paced environment. You’ll mentor a team, drive engineering excellence, and collaborate with offshore and internal stakeholders to deliver high-quality outcomes.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of Java and Spring in high-volume, highly available environments.
• Experience with AI coding assistants in SDLC tooling and workflows.
• 2+ years with modern batch solutions (Spring Batch, Spring Cloud Data Flow).
• 3+ years cloud deployment with CI/CD practices.
• 3+ years working with cloud databases (PostgreSQL, Aerospike) or cloud-ready relational databases.
• 3+ years messaging systems (RabbitMQ, Kafka).
• 5+ years of strong written, verbal, and people skills; effective cross-functional communication.
• Ability to collaborate with offshore and internal stakeholders and drive delivery roadmaps.

Responsibilities

• Understand business needs and propose optimal technical solutions.
• Identify gaps and risks in delivery, scalability, security, and operations.
• Create architecture diagrams, write code and automated tests.
• Architect and deliver scalable solutions aligned with the vision.
• Deliver high-quality work on time and with focus on excellence.
• Lead planning reviews and ensure clear work breakdowns.
