Job summary

JPMorgan Chase & Co. in Plano, TX is seeking a Lead Software Engineer to join the Asset and Wealth Management Technology & Operations team.

You will be a core technical contributor delivering trusted, scalable products and driving AI-assisted engineering practices across the SDLC. Responsibilities include leading design discussions, optimizing automation and deployment, ensuring security and resiliency, and mentoring teams in modern engineering methods.

Qualifications

• Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 5+ years applied experience.
• Demonstrated experience leading effective use of approved AI-assisted software development tools with the ability to set team expectations for validating AI outputs for correctness, performance, and security.
• Strong understanding of responsible AI use in engineering workflows, including data sensitivity considerations, secure handling of inputs/outputs, and adherence to resiliency and security expectations; experience coaching engineers on safe adoption within delivery practices.
• Hands-on practical experience delivering system design, application development, testing, and operational stability.
• Advanced expertise in Java, SpringBoot, Reactor.io framework
• Proficient in distributed microservices and event driven architecture constructs
• Proficiency in automation and continuous delivery methods
• Proficient in all aspects of the Software Development Life Cycle
• Advanced understanding of agile methodologies such as CI/CD, Application Resiliency, and Security
• Demonstrated proficiency in software applications and technical processes within a technical discipline (cloud, AI, ML, mobile, etc.)
• In-depth knowledge of the financial services industry and their IT systems
• Practical cloud native experience

Responsibilities

• Executes creative software solutions, design, development, and technical troubleshooting across complex problems.
• Drives team adoption of enterprise AI-assisted engineering practices to improve code quality, delivery speed, and operational outcomes while standardizing validation.
• Applies SDLC tools and AI-assisted development and automation capabilities to improve automation value.
• Develops secure high-quality production code and conducts reviews and debugging.
• Identifies opportunities to automate recurring remediation to improve stability.
• Leads evaluation sessions with external vendors and internal teams on architectural designs and tech applicability.
• Leads communities of practice to promote new technologies.
• Contributes to team culture with diversity, inclusion, and respect.
