Job summary

JPMorgan Chase & Co. in Plano, TX is seeking a Lead Software Engineer to drive delivery of trusted market-leading technology products within Consumer and Community Banking technology.

As a core technical contributor, you will lead a team of developers, shape software architecture, adopt enterprise AI-assisted engineering practices, and ensure secure, scalable solutions across the SDLC.

Qualifications

• Formal training or certification in software engineering with 5+ years of applied experience.
• Proven experience leading effective use of AI-assisted software development tools with validation.
• Strong understanding of responsible AI use in engineering workflows and secure delivery practices.
• Advanced in Java/J2EE including Java 17 features and concurrency.
• Spring Framework experience for SOAP/REST, MVC, and Spring Boot.
• Extensive AWS experience: IAM, VPC, EC2, EKS, S3, RDS, and networking basics.
• Experience with build/integration tools: Jira, Maven, Git, Jenkins, GitHub, Bitbucket.
• Expertise in Agile, security (OAuth2/ADFS, Kerberos, XSS, HTTP injection) and SDLC practices.
• Hands-on design, development, testing, and operational stability.
• Strong automation and continuous delivery capabilities.
• Deep understanding of CI/CD, resiliency, and security in agile environments.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team of developers, providing coaching, code reviews, and career development to grow team capability and delivery outcomes
• Executes creative software solutions, design, development, and technical troubleshooting with ability to think beyond routine
• Drives team adoption of AI-assisted engineering practices to improve code quality, delivery speed, and stability
• Applies knowledge of SDLC tools and AI-assisted development to improve automation and value
• Develops secure production code, and reviews and debugs code written by others
• Identifies opportunities to automate remediation of recurring issues to improve stability
• Leads evaluation sessions with external vendors and internal teams to assess designs and applicability
• Leads communities of practice to promote new technologies and best practices
• Contributes to an inclusive team culture with diversity and respect
