Job summary

Staffxpert LLC in Reston, VA is looking for a Lead Java Developer for a 12-month contract. You will perform technical design, coding and testing, and act as a subject matter expert in discussions with customers and internal teams.

The role involves delivering large enterprise systems, integrating front-end and back-end components, mentoring junior engineers, and extending open source libraries when needed. Proficiency with Java, Spring, REST, AWS, DevOps, and COBOL environments is highly valued.

Qualifications

Java development experience with unit/integration tests (JUnit/TestNG).
COBOL development experience and environments (CICS, JCL, TSO/ISPF, ChangeMan, Topaz).
Ability to understand and work with code developed by others.
Ability to work independently.
Experience with web services and RESTful/SOA services.
Experience with Agile or Scrum methodologies.
Experience with continuous integration in a DevOps environment.
Excellent English communication skills.
Experience with Spring Core/Boot/MVC/Integration.
Experience with AWS cloud technologies.
Experience with API Management Tools.
Experience with Git/Bitbucket.

Responsibilities

Perform technical design, coding, and testing of applications.
Serve as SME in discussions with customers and internal teams.
Develop and analyze interface design documentation and ensure standards compliance.
Deliver large enterprise systems for thousands of users.
Implement and test software, analyze requirements and create design specs.
Develop software solutions, address functional and non-functional requirements, and perform O&M of existing systems.
Mentor junior engineers and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
