Job summary

Seattle Center is seeking a full-time Lead Janitor to head a small crew responsible for cleaning facilities, reporting to the Operations Crew Chief. The position offers an evening shift (1:00 pm - 9:30 pm) after training on the day shift.

The role includes training, scheduling, and evaluating staff and maintaining inventories. Requirements include two years of janitorial experience, a WA state driver's license, and strong English communication.

Qualifications

• Two years janitorial services experience.
• Driver's license (Washington State) required.
• Lead experience preferred (1 year) in facilities or similar.
• Ability to read and write in English and perform basic math.
• Proficient with email and basic MS Office (Word/Excel).
• Strong communication and customer service skills with diverse groups.

Responsibilities

• Lead a small crew of janitors ensuring cleanliness and safety across Seattle Center facilities.
• Perform janitor duties: trash, sweeping, mopping, restroom cleaning, supply replenishment, fixtures cleaning.
• Train, schedule, coordinate, and evaluate janitors.
• Maintain routine accounting records, inventories, and stock using a computer system.
• Assist in moving furniture and other objects.
• Assist in testing and researching new products and equipment.
• Perform basic maintenance on equipment.
• Act as liaison between janitorial crew and management.
