Job summary

Verigent seeks a Lead IT Systems Engineer with Top Secret clearance for a remote/hybrid role, onsite Fort Meade, MD one day per week. You will lead and execute system integration tasks across design, testing, deployment, and operations.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years in Linux systems engineering, 5+ years Docker, 3+ years GCP or AWS, and 3+ years automation with Ansible, Puppet or Chef. Strong collaboration, problem solving, and willingness to travel are required.

Qualifications

• 5+ years Linux systems engineering experience (RHEL, Rocky) and strong Linux networking knowledge.
• 5+ years Docker experience including deploying, managing, and troubleshooting containers.
• 3+ years with Google Cloud Platform or AWS; 3+ years automation with Ansible, Puppet, or Chef.
• Willingness to travel and to work hybrid onsite weekly with customer; US Citizen with Top Secret clearance.

Responsibilities

• Lead and participate in system integration across design, testing, deployment, and validation.
• Coordinate with customer to define requirements, engineer solutions, and rapidly implement into production.
• Develop, troubleshoot, and optimize Docker containers and containerized applications across environments.
• Centrally orchestrate multiple containers with replication, high-availability, and deployment.
• Engineer and implement network architectural solutions alongside customer.
• Deploy, configure, and administer systems in Google Cloud Platform.
• Design and transition technical solutions into production with clear handoff.
• Evaluate, build, integrate, test and prepare systems for operational use and rapid remediation.
• Evaluate and recommend future technologies to enhance capabilities.
• Support due diligence activities including site surveys, BOMs, SOWs, vendor coordination and proposal delivery.
• Recommend optimized solutions to improve efficiencies, reduce costs, and increase customer satisfaction.
• Mentor teammates by sharing new technologies and best practices.
• Provide rapid operational support and troubleshooting to production equipment.
