The United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) Office of Patent Automation (OPA), part of the Office of Information Technology for Patents (OITP), seeks qualified candidates to support automation tools and technologies across the patent lifecycle. Applicants must meet OPM qualification standards for 1220 series and have specialized experience at the GS-14 level.

Successful candidates will lead teams, advise senior leaders on IT strategy, and oversee programs that advance patent workflows

Qualifications

• Specialized experience equivalent to GS-14 in federal service.
• Experience managing program operations involving automated information systems or IT for patent lifecycle support.
• Knowledge of patent laws, regulations, policies, workflows, and examination operations.
• Ability to lead a team and provide expert advice to senior leadership on IT strategy and enterprise programs, including AI implementation.
