Job summary

Knowledge Builders Inc. seeks a Lead Solution Architect for the DOT TSMO Technology Program to provide strategic vision and an overarching blueprint for IT/OT convergence in transportation systems, including traffic control, public transit, logistics, and infrastructure monitoring.

You will design secure, resilient architectures, lead PoCs, collaborate with stakeholders, and guide teams through implementation while ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications

• 84+ months of IT, systems engineering, and OT in an architect/lead role.
• 84 months IT/OT Convergence integrating OT with cloud databases and analytics.
• 72 months designing secure architectures isolating OT from IT networks.
• 72 months hybrid cloud design (AWS/Azure/private) handling real-time data.
• 60 months ITS devices experience (DMS, CCTV, RWIS, detectors).
• 48 months leading teams of architects and analysts.
• 48 months vendor evaluation and management per policies.

Responsibilities

• Develop high-level and detailed architectures for IT/OT converged systems.
• Define integration blueprints for data flow and security across IT/OT.
• Embed cybersecurity into architecture from outset and ensure compliance.
• Lead PoCs and prototypes to validate designs and explore solutions.
• Collaborate with stakeholders across business, IT, OT, cybersecurity, and vendors.
• Provide technical leadership to project teams throughout delivery.
• Create comprehensive architectural documentation and standards.
